This work has as its objective to identify the most frequent reasons for employees' dismissals from the company's point of view. And also verify if the reasons are related to technical knowledge or social competencies. Identify if the dismissal reasons are connected to performance and how they are measured. This work has a qualitative nature of a descriptive and explanatory type. The instrument was a semistructured interview with five questions. The sample was made by accessibility and not by probability. The interviews were applied to eighteen Human Resources professionals, employees of micro, small, medium, and large companies located in the Paraiba Valley region. The data was treated based on the Collective Subject Speech Methodology and to categorize and finalize the speech, the qualiquantisoft software was used. The results indicate that the number of dismissals is high and the main reason is the market circumstances. One of the criteria most mentioned by the interviewees was the inadequate behavior followed by the lack of technical qualification. The companies did not offer any replacement processes due to the high cost and the employee's dismissal jeopardizes the company's image. The decrease of levels in organizational structures, the change of tasks by processes, the use of electronic machines, and the competition will make the large and medium size companies become unemployment generators.
