Threading with male machine treated with metallic conditioner [Rosqueamento com machos máquina tratados com condicionador metálico]

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the performance of high speed steel taps after the application of a metal conditioner during the LNE 380 steel threading in an automobile company. The experimental procedures were performed in a threader of ROSCAMAT self-reversible head, keeping the machining conditions employed by the company. They were employed M8x1,25 cutting taps with three straight channels. a visual analysis was done, with the help of a MEV, and obtained costs were calculated. The results shows that the conditioned taps showed better performance, which provided a significant cost reduction. © 2017. revistaESPACIOS.com.
