Avaliação in vitro da capacidade de corte e do desgaste de limas manuais de Ni-Ti

Abstract

Resumo: O preparo do canal radicular representa uma etapa importante da terapia endodôntica pois sua dinâmica, juntamente com instrumentos auxiliados pelas substâncias químicas, permite a obtenção de uma forma adequada do canal para posterior obturação. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo comparar a capacidade de corte do primeiro ao quinto uso e o desgaste após o quinto uso, de limas endodônticas de níquel titânio manuais de três marcas diferentes. Para tanto, foram utilizados dez instrumentos de níquel-titânio da marca Maileffer-Dentsply, dez instrumentos de níquel-titânio da marca FKG e dez instrumentos de níquel-titânio da marca Densell, todas de número trinta e cinco. As limas foram acopladas a um dispositivo de ensaio de desgaste que realizava movimentos contínuos e lineares em placas sulcadas à base de resina fenólica. Estas placas foram pesadas em balança analítica antes e após a instrumentação. Foram também realizadas análises por microscopia óptica das limas endodônticas a fim de verificar o desgaste na superfície dos instrumentos a cerca de 15 mm de sua ponta ativa, tanto antes como depois da instrumentação. De posse dos resultados obtidos, realizaram-se a estatística descritiva e o teste t com relação à remoção do material e o teste de Kolmogorov-Smirnov para a avaliação do desgaste dos instrumentos (escores) que determinaram a avaliação estatística pelo teste ANOVA. Concluiu-se que os instrumentos apresentaram capacidades de cortes semelhantes sem diferenças estatísticas significativas e perderam a capacidade de corte em função do número de uso. Quanto ao desgaste dos instrumentos, verificou-se que as lâminas de corte da marca Densell deformaram-se menos comparativamente aos instrumentos da marca Dentsply e FKG com diferença estatisticamente significante porém, entre essas últimas, ocorreu deformação sem diferença estatisticamente significante.

Abstract: The preparation of the root canal represents an important stage of the endodontic therapy, therefore, its dynamics together with instruments assisted by chemical substances allow the attainment of a form adequate for posterior obturation. The present work had as objective the comparison of the cutting ability, from the first to fifth use, and the wear, after the fifth use, of hand nickel-titanium endontic files of three different marks. For that, it have been used ten nickel-titanium instruments of the Maileffer-Dentsply mark, ten nickel-titanium instruments of the FKG mark and ten nickel-titanium instruments of the Densell mark, all number thirty five. The files have been attached to a wear test device, which carried continuous and linear movements in phenolic resin base ridged plates. These plates have been weighted in an analytical scale before and after the instrumentation. Analyses with an optical microscope of the endodontic files were also made to verify wear in the surface of the instruments about 15 mm of its active tip both before and after the instrumentation. With the results, descriptive statistics and the t test were made with regard to the removal of the material and the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was made for the evaluation of the wear of the instruments (scores), which determined the statistical evaluation by the ANOVA test. It was concluded that the instruments have presented similar cuting abilities without statistical differences and have lost the cutting ability with use. As far as the wear of the instruments it was verified that the cutting blades of the Densell mark have been less deformed compared to the instruments of the marks Dentsply and FKG with statistical significance, but between the last ones, there occurred deformation without statistical difference.
