A problemática do dinheiro em Persuasão, de Jane Austen

Abstract

Resumo: O tema da presente monografia é a problemática do dinheiro na obra de Jane Austen. Tomaremos como objeto de estudo o romance Persuasão, de Jane Austen. Como pergunta de pesquisa, temos: como o problema do dinheiro interfere no destino das personagens femininas na obra de Jane Austen? Os objetivos desta pesquisa são:1) pesquisar o estágio do capitalismo no início do século XIX, 2) justificar o momento de ascensão do romance, do romantismo e da obra de Jane Austen, 3) refletir sobre a questão do dinheiro atrelado ao destino das personagens. Essa pesquisa tem por justificativa auxiliar alunos do Ensino Superior a compreender mais a fundo a problemática do dinheiro na obra Persuasão, de Jane Austen. A metodologia a ser empregada será a da pesquisa bibliográfica. A fundamentação teórica se ancora em autores como Edward Säid, Franco Moretti, Ian Watt, Sandra Guardini Vasconcelos, Robert Irvine e Eric Hobsbawn. Como resultados, temos que compreender a origem das personagens e que o poder monetário influencia, sim, o destino das personagens, principalmente o das personagens femininas femininas.

Abstract: The theme of the present research is the money problem in Persuasion, by Jane Austen. The object of this research is the novel Persuasion, by Jane Austen. The question of this research is how the money problem, in Persuasion, interferes with the destiny of the female characters of Austen's composition? The objectives of this research are: 1) research the stage of capitalism in XVII century 2) justify the rising novel moment, romanticism and Jane Austen compositions 3) reflect about the monetary problem with the destiny of the characters. This research justifies to assist college students to comprehend deeper the money problem on Jane Austen's composition, Persuasion. The theoretical foundation is based on authors, such as Edward Saïd, Franco Moretti, Ian Watt, Sandra Guardini Vasconcelos, Robert Irvine and Eric Hobsbawn. The result is to comprehend the origin of the characters and how the monetary power influences the destiny of female characters.
