Um genocídio contra a humanidade : as causas que contribuíram para o extermínio do povo armênio no território otomano

Abstract

Resumo: O presente estudo busca analisar os crimes cometidos contra a população armênia em território otomano entre o fim do século XIX e o início do século XX, com enfoque maior nos crimes ocorridos durante a Primeira Guerra Mundial, destacando o planejamento adotado pelos governantes otomanos a fim de retirar toda a população armênia do território otomano. Abordaremos a história dos povos envolvidos, com o objetivo de facilitar a inserção no tema. Esta pesquisa desenvolveu-se a partir do método exploratório, a fim de fornecer informações sobre o tema para que o leitor possa ter uma ciência dos eventos ocorridos. Esta pesquisa buscou, através de uma revisão bibliográfica, explorar os fatores que levaram à prática do genocídio das cidades e vilas armênias em solo otomano, verificou-se a importância de apresentar de forma clara e objetiva os diversos conflitos, externos e internos, que abalaram sistematicamente governo otomano. Procuramos, ainda, apresentar detalhadamente os atos que foram cometidos contra a população armênia, com relatos dos crimes, das leis adotadas pelo governo otomano e a posição dos líderes otomanos e mundiais com relação aos acontecimentos.

Abstract: The present study seeks to analyze the crimes committed against the Armenian population in Ottoman territory between the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, by focussing on crimes during World War I, highlighting the planning adopted by the Ottoman rulers to remove the entire Armenian population from Ottoman territory. We will approach the history of the people involved, with the aim of facilitating the insertion in the theme. This research was developed from the exploratory method in order to provide information about the subject so that the reader can be aware of the events that occurred. This research, through a literature review, aimed to explore the factors that led to the genocide practice of Armenian cities and towns on Ottoman soil and found the importance of presenting clearly and objectively the several, external and internal conflicts that shook systematically Ottoman government. We also seek to present in detail the acts that were committed against the Armenian population, with reports of the crimes, the laws adopted by the Ottoman government and the position of their Ottoman and world leaders about the events.
