Um estudo sobre a atuação do professor na educação infantil

Abstract

Resumo: A partir de observações e experiências com o estágio supervisionado e com os projetos de extensão, ao longo do curso de Pedagogia na Universidade de Taubaté (UNITAU), foi possível perceber a tímida presença masculina na Educação Infantil. Questionou-se sobre a ausência de professores do sexo masculino na etapa da Educação Infantil a fim de dar luz à discussão sobre a pouca presença masculina na educação de crianças de 0 a 5 anos, aos possíveis estigmas provocados pelo olhar da comunidade, uma vez que a escola vem sendo um espaço que reafirma a feminização do ensino, principalmente, nessa etapa da educação básica, por reforçar e atribuir exclusivamente à mulher o papel de educar e cuidar. Desta forma é importante perguntar sobre o porquê do ingresso do homem nessa etapa do ensino. Propôs-se uma pesquisa de abordagem qualitativa que entrevistou três professores do sexo masculino a fim de discutir e analisar as condições do ingresso do docente no ambiente escolar da Educação Infantil e chamar a atenção para a busca por um novo olhar sobre esses profissionais que estão à espera de oportunidades para conquistar seu espaço no mercado de trabalho. Os resultados revelaram que ainda há certo preconceito, que o professor terá que desenvolver e provar as habilidades e competências do sexo masculino no cuidado e educação de crianças de 0 a 5 anos e, que alguns profissionais acabam abandonando a sala de aula e migrando para a gestão escolar. Os que persistem, tentam conquistar seu espaço enfrentando as barreiras e os estereótipos que os cercam.

Abstract: From observations and experiences with the supervised internship and extension projects, during the course of Pedagogy at the University of Taubaté (UNITAU), it was possible to perceive the shy male presence in early childhood education. It was questioned about the absence of male teachers in the kindergarten stage in order to shed light on the discussion of the low presence of men in the education of children from 0 to 5 years old, the possible stigmas caused by the community's gaze, since The school has been a space that reaffirms the feminization of teaching, especially at this stage of basic education, by reinforcing and attributing exclusively to women the role of educating and caring. Thus it is important to ask why the entrance of man in this stage of teaching. It was proposed a qualitative approach research that interviewed three male teachers in order to discuss and analyze the conditions of the teacher's entrance in the preschool environment and draw attention to the search for a new look on these professionals who are waiting for opportunities to win their place in the job market. The results revealed that there is still some prejudice, that the teacher will have to develop and prove the male skills and competences in the care and education of children from 0 to 5 years old, and that some professionals end up leaving the classroom and migrating to the managment. Those who persist try to conquer their space by confronting the barriers and stereotypes that surround them.
