Comparativo entre microbiota oral de nadadores e não nadadores : uma análise dos efeitos das substancias químicas presentes na água de piscina em relação a cavidade oral

Abstract

Resumo: O objetivo desse estudo foi analisar e comparar a microbiota bucal de nadadores, que mantem uma rotina de treinos intensos a nível competitivo, e de não nadadores, com as mesmas características (sexo e idade), e avaliar se as substâncias usadas no tratamento e manutenção da água das piscinas afetam de forma considerável a microbiota desses atletas. Foi feito uma pesquisa de campo com dois grupos, de doze indivíduos cada, onde se isolou apenas a natação como diferença entre os candidatos. Foi coletada a saliva desses indivíduos, e posteriormente feito o processamento laboratorial com placas de ágar sangue, finalizando com a quantificação de UFC nessas placas. Em conclusão, não se obteve uma discrepância quantitativa relevante de UFC entre os dois grupos, assim não podendo alegar uma intima relação entre as substâncias usadas no tratamento da água da piscina e a quantidade de bactérias presentes na cavidade oral entre esses grupos.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to analyze and compare the oral microbiota of swimmers, who maintain an intense training routine at a competitive level, and non-swimmers, with the same characteristics (gender and age), and to evaluate if the substances used in the treatment and maintenance of pool water affect considerably the microbiota of these athletes. A field research was done with two groups, of twelve individuals each, where swimming was isolated as the only difference between the candidates. The saliva of these individuals was collected, and then laboratory processing was done with blood agar plates, ending with the quantification of CFU on these plates. In conclusion, a relevant quantitative discrepancy of CFU between the two groups was not obtained, thus we cannot claim an intimate relationship between the substances used in the treatment of the pool water and the amount of bacteria present in the oral cavity between these groups.
