Odontologia hospitalar : revisão de literatura

Abstract

Resumo: A demanda pelo serviço de saúde brasileiro demonstra que se deve aperfeiçoar o atendimento, considerando a melhora da prestação dos serviços de saúde. A partir dai estruturou-se esta pesquisa, através de levantamentobibliográfico, que abordam a temática Odontologia Hospitalar, com ênfase para o atendimento em Unidades de Terapia Intensiva (UTl) e pacientes oncológicos . Se objetiva mostrar que a Presença do cirurgião dentista nas equipes multiprofissionais, para os cuidados da saúde bucal dos pacientes, que esta intimamente ligada com a saúde sistêmica, e imprescindível. A Fundamentação teórica se inicia conceituando a Humanização no atendimento hospitalar, seguida por considerações sobre pacientes oncológicos e equipes multidisciplinares. Ao final se mostra que o cuidado com a cavidade oral, além dos benefícios esperados como redução de dor e desconforto ao paciente, melhora da saúde geral, reduz o custo gerado pelo internamento e remédios, e aumenta a quantidade de leitos vagos, proporcionando novas oportunidades de atendimento e reduzindo o tempo de espera, pelos pacientes, em filas e evitando o agravamento do estado do mesmo.

Abstract: The demand for the Brazilian health service demonstrates that it is necessary to improve care, considering the improvement of health services delivery. From this point of view, this research was structured through a bibliographic survey, which addresses the theme of Hospital Dentistry, with an emphasis on care in Intensive Care Units (UTl) and cancer patients. It is aimed to show that the presence of the dentist surgeon in the multiprofessional teams, for the oral health care of the patients, that is closely linked with the systemic health, and essential. The theoretical basis begins by conceptualizing Humanization in hospital care, followed by considerations about oncological patients and multidisciplinary teams. Finally, it is shown that oral cavity care, besides the expected benefits such as reduction of pain and discomfort to the patient, improvement of general health, reduces the cost of hospitalization and medication, and increases the number of vacant beds, providing new opportunities and reducing waiting time for patients, in queues and avoiding the worsening of the patient's condition.
