Communication for development: Considerations for a building of thematic interfaces [Comunicação para o desenvolvimento: Considerações para uma construção de interfaces temáticas]

Abstract

In a society marked by the intense presence of the media, it is necessary to reflect how communication is articulated with the development of a place, region or territory. The purpose of the article is to delimit possible interfaces between the communication areas and regional development studies, with the aim of contributing to the construction of theoretical and methodological bridges that allow communication thinking to development. The method is delineated as exploratory, bibliographical, qualitative approach. The following thematic interfaces between communication and development were pointed out: communication and empowerment; Analysis of communicational manifestations in urban and rural spaces; Manifestations of discourses in the media; Image of places, public, community, educational and governmental communication. © 2016, Universidade de Taubate.
