Abstract: The construction industry provided one of the most important sectors of Brazil's economy adds to its supply chain various economic activities. This is a segment of great importance to the economy that employs large numbers of people, generating wealth, promoting development a region. Not least is its social nature, as this business segment caters to diverse socioeconomic classes, to build building residential, commercial and industrial. Stand out, however, that the construction industry has a strong responsibility on environmental management, given the massive generation of solid wastes, the treatment should be based on own procedures focus on the conservation of natural resources and rational use of space who deals with the construction. Hence, the need emerges to lead to shared actions effect and integrated with the government, whose normative character and have regulatory oversight in order to minimize the generation of such wastes, as well as guidance on recycling and reuse these. The objective of this paper is to present the influence of the growth of the construction industry in the generation and disposal of solid waste in the City of Caraguatatuba between the years 2004 and 2012. As completion of the work, it is suggested that the city studied there incorrect disposal of construction waste, with a strong array of environmental aggression.
