Title: Solidarity economy: concepts and norteador principles
Authors: Leal, Kamila Soares
Rodrigues, Marilsa de Sa
Abstract: The first movements that would culminate in the emergence of Solidarity Economy, date from the beginning of the nineteenth century in Europe, and its arrival in America happened from 1980. Because it is a relatively new field, the subject has scarce literature in Brazil, which expresses a difficulty in its conceptualization. Starting from this theme, the present work intends to conceptualize the Solidary Economy, starting from the analysis of its historical evolution, principles and characteristics. In order to reach the objective of the study, a bibliographical and exploratory research was adopted, where it was tried to explore books and periodicals that deal with the subject, to reach a more complete conceptualization. Thus, the study concludes that Solidary Economy is a social movement that proposes a self-managed, democratic and cooperative way of production, alternative to the traditional economy, whose purpose is economic, social and political development, to the detriment of pure accumulation of capital, as well as explained in the following chapters.
