Abstract: The main focus of the industry is the delivery of products with a deadline and quality demanded by its customers, and within this concepet increasingly seek to increase their productive capacities, guaranteeing a good financial return and adding value to the business. However, industrial processes and especially chemicals have associated intrinsic hazards and major accidents have already occurred and still occur around the world, causing many losses, including human, material, ewnvironmental and image losses of companies. It is important that the chemical or petrochemical industry uses safety management programs for its processes, implementing robust preventive and mitigating protection barriers, aiming at reducing major accidents, which endanger the health and safety of its emp0loyess and even the sustainability of the business.
