Abstract

Resumo: As marcas de mordida representam uma área de estudo na Odontologia Forense, pois apresentam impressões individualizadas, perenes, possíveis de serem classificadas sobre diversos parâmetros e de provas geralmente incontroversas. O grande número das características individuais presente nas peças dentais e o seu exame determinam o caráter personalíssimo de cada mordida objetivando o procedimento de associações entre as marcas e os padrões de confronto das impressões das amostras obtidas dos suspeitos. O estudo e análise das mordeduras determinam possíveis identificações de vítimas e de seus agressores diante de casos observados principalmente, em homicídios, crimes sexuais e relatos de violência doméstica. Os arcos dentários podem atuar como instrumentos contundentes ou cortocontundentes produzindo lesões e constituindo provas irrefutáveis diante da justiça, sob o ponto de vista médico-jurídico pela exclusão de um suspeito ou a evidenciação de elementos caracterizadores de sua culpabilidade.
