Abstract

Resumio: Com a evolução do conhecimento, o capital intelectual tem sido fonte de competitividade e inovação entre regiões desenvolvidas. A abordagem sobre ativos intangíveis e suas premissas permite conhecer a contribuição do mesmo para o desenvolvimento regional. Nesta investigação, a colaboração do capital intelectual para a região estudada ocorrerá por meio da mensuração da produção de patentes das IES selecionadas, vista como um progresso tecnológico. O objetivo desta dissertação é avaliar três IES públicas do estado de São Paulo que desenvolveram patentes no período de 2003 a 2012 e analisar seus impactos benéficos nos âmbitos social e institucional. Para alcançar o proposto, foi realizado, além da pesquisa bibliográfica, um estudo descritivo com abordagem qualitativa - quantitativa por meio de uma apreciação documental. Com esta abordagem, foi possível realizar um estudo sobre as mudanças que estão ocorrendo no ambiente acadêmico em prol da geração de inovação. Os resultados indicam que, apesar de oscilações ocorridas no período pesquisado, houve uma evolução da produção de patentes das Universidade paulistas USP, UNICAMP e UNESP com alguns benefícios diretos para a sociedade em geral e outros atender as demandas do setor industrial.

Abstract: With the evolution of the know, the intellectual capital has been source of competitive and innovation among developed regions. The approach about intangible assets and their assumptions allows to understand the contribution of the intellectual capital to the region developed. In this investigation, the collaboration of the intellectual capital to the region studied will occur through of production of patents, seen as a technological progress. The objective of this dissertation is to evaluate three public institutions of higher education of São Paulo who developed patents in the period 2003 - 2012 and to analyze their beneficial impacts to the ambits social and institutional. To achieve the proposed, will be performed in addition to the literature search, a descriptive study with a qualitative - quantitative approach through a documental appreciation was performed. With this approach, it was possible to perform an analysis of the changes which are taking place in the academic environment in favor of the generation of innovation. The results indicate that, despite fluctuations during the years studied, there was an evolution of the production of patents of universities USP, UNICAMP and UNESP with some direct benefits to society in general and others focused to attend the demands of the industrial sector.
