Manuseio de agrotóxicos e a saúde ocupacional no trabalho rural : contaminação por agrotóxicos organofosforados

Abstract

Resumo: Este trabalho tem como principal objetivo salientar a importância de uma análise sistemática de todo o processo produtivo rural no que diz respeito ao uso de agrotóxicos. Os riscos e perigos a que estão expostos os trabalhadores que utilizam especificamente as substâncias organofosforadas. O meu interesse por esse assunto começou pela leitura de um artigo publicado na revista Galileu em agosto de 2002 "A última colheita" que aborda com excelência esse tema. Na época eu lecionava química para os alunos de uma escola rural próxima a reserva florestal "Carlos Botelho" em São Miguel Arcanjo. Eu tinha conhecimento que meus alunos eram filhos de agricultores e mesmo alguns já trabalhavam ajudando seus pais. Então fiz uma pequena pesquisa informal que foi utilizada na época apenas para discussão e comentários nas minhas aulas, colhendo informações de como eles tratavam a questões ocupacionais do uso dos agrotóxicos, já que a maioria relatou usar esses produtos especialmente no cultivo da uva Itália e batata. A maioria não utilizava equipamentos de segurança para as pulverizações e nem se preocupava com o descarte das embalagens dos produtos agrotóxicos. Alguns alunos relataram casos de intoxicação ocorridos com eles e com familiares. E desde essa época me despertou o interesse pelo assunto, especialmente quando tive conhecimento do possível relação da intoxicação com os agrotóxicos organofosforados e os efeitos como a depressão, a alta ocorrência de suicídios e problemas neurocomportamentais. No momento desse curso achei de interesse pesquisar sobre o assunto com um pouco mais de profundidade para entender as possíveis correlações entre o tema e suas implicações com a saúde e a segurança do trabalhador que é referencia da engenharia de segurança do trabalho.

Abstract: This work has as main objective to all point out the importance of a systematic analysis of the agricultural productive process in what it says respect to the use of pesticides. The risks and dangers the one that is displayed the workers whom they use specifically the organophosphates substance. My interest for this subject started for the reading of an article published in the Galileu magazine in August of the 2002 "last harvest" that approaches with excellency this subject. At the time I teached chemistry for the pupils of a next agricultural school the forest reserve "Carlos Botelho" in I am S?o Miguel Arcanjo. I had knowledge that my pupils were children of agriculturists and same some already worked helping his parents. Then I made a small one informal research that was used at the time only for discussion and commentaries in my lessons, gathering information of as they dealt with the occupational questions the use of the pesticides, since the majority told especially to use these products in the culture of the grape Italy and potato. The majority did not use equipment of security for the sprayings and nor if it worried about the discarding of the packing of the pesticides products. Some students had told occurred cases of poisoning with them and familiar. And since this time I awaked the interest for the subject, especially when I had knowledge of the possible relation of the poisoning with the organophosphorus pesticides and the effect as the depression, the high occurrence of suicides and neurological problems. At the moment of this course I found of interest to search on the subject with a little more than depth to understand the possible correlations between the subject and its implications with the health and the security of the worker who is reference of the engineering of security of the work.
