Fatores que influenciam a qualidade da pesquisa científica na percepção dos discentes de cursos de pós-graduação de uma Universidade do Vale do Paraiba

Abstract

Resumo: Ao longo da história da humanidade pode-se observar que o conhecimento científico, resultado de milênios de experimentação e teorização, somente foi impulsionado nos periodos que antecedem a Revolução Industrial na Inglaterra (Renascimento - entre os séculos XIV e XVII e Iluminismo - século XVIII). As universidades se propagaram e com elas as pesquisas científicas, resultado das constantes exigências da era moderna que se estabelecia. Diversos fatores sempre influenciaram o ambiente acadêmico, seus discentes e docentes, na busca pelo saber, tanto os fatores do macro ambiente, como incentivos governamentais e parcerias com organizações, até fatores do micro ambiente que circundam o mundo acadêmico como laboratórios, salas de aulas, recurso didáticos, bibliotecas, interação discente-docente entre outros. Diversos fatores são influenciadores do ambiente acadêmico e esta pesquisa aborda alguns deles, na percepção do discente, e seu grau de influência nas pesquisas científicas, variáveis que compõem o problema de pesquisa deste trabalho, ou seja, o problema em questão poderia ser definido como o próprio tema desta dissertação sugere: "Fatores que influenciam a qualidade da pesquisa científica na percepção dos discentes de cursos de pós-graduação de uma universidade do Vale do Paraíba". O objetivo geral desta pesquisa é analisar alguns destes fatores que podem influenciar nas pesquisas científicas. Com base na literatura sobre o assunto, observando desde a evolução do conhecimento científico, consequência de inúmeras e vangloriosas pesquisas científicas ao longo da história, com base no pensamento filosófico-científico de cada época, e pesquisa (quantitativa e qualitativa) do tipo explanatória, por meio do método de pesquisa de avaliação- survey, confirmatória, foram aplicados questionários em discentes dos cursos de pós-graduação "lato sensu" e "stricto sensu", de uma universidade localizada no Vale do Paraiba, Estado de São Paulo, os quais forneceram dados para análise e considerações sobre o problema de pesquisa abordado, sendo estes tratados e analisados utilizando técnicas descritivas e métodos de análise multivariada de dados: Análise de Componentes principais e Análise de Agrupamento. As considerações finais possibilitaram o fechamento da pesquisa, de acordo com seus objetivos, possibilitando observar o cenário acadêmico estudado, e seus respectivos fatores, observados na percepção dos discentes de pós-graduação, com grau de positividade bastante satisfatório de um modo geral e sinalizando aos gestores da instituição de ensino superior investigada os pontos fortes a serem aprimorados e os pontos fracos que precisam ser retrabalhados, podendo os resultados observados serem extensivos à outras Instituições de Ensino Superior (IES) com parâmetros similares.

Abstract: Throughout the history of mankind it can be observed that the scientific knowledge, the result of millennia of experimentation and theorizing, was only driven in the prior periods to the Industrial Revolution in England (Renaissance - between the fourteenth and seventeenth centuries and the Enlightenment - XVIII century). Universities have spread and with them the scientific research results to the requirements of the modern age have been established. Several factors have always influenced the academic environment, the students and teachers in the search for knowledge, both the macro environment factors, such as government incentives and partnerships with organizations to microenvironmental factors that surround the academic world as laboratories, classrooms, resources textbooks, libraries, student-teacher interaction among others. Several factors are influencing the academic environment and this research addresses some of them, the perception of the students, and their degree of influence in scientific research, variables that make up the research problem of this work, that is, the problem in question could be defined as the own theme of this thesis suggests: "Factors influencing the quality of scientific research in the perception of postgraduate students from a university in the Paraíba Valley". The objective of this research is to analyze some of these factors that can influence scientific research. Based on the literature on the subject, watching from the evolution of scientific knowledge, the result of numerous and vainglorious scientific research throughout history, based on philosophical and scientific thought through the time, and research (qualitative and quantitative) of the explanatory type, through the evaluation research method - survey, confirmatory, questionnaires were applied to postgraduate students ("lato sensu" and "stricto sensu"), from a university located in the Paraíba Valley, State of São Paulo, which they provided data for analysis and consideration of the research problem, which were processed and analyzed using descriptive techniques and methods of multivariate data analysis: principal Component analysis and Cluster analysis. The final considerations enabled the closing of the research, according to their goals, allowing to observe the academic scenario studies, and their factors, observed in the perception of postgraduate students, with very satisfactory positive grade in general and signaling to managers of higher education institution investigated the strengths to be enhanced and weaknesses that need to be reworked, the observed results can be extended to the other higher education institutions (HEI) with similar parameters.
