A importância do cirurgião dentista no ambiente hospitalar : revisão de literatura

Abstract

Resumo: A presença do cirurgião-dentista no ambiente nosocomial para acompanhar a saúde bucal de pacientes é fundamental, pois sua atuação tem como objetivo colaborar, oferecer e agregar mais força ao que caracteriza a nova identidade do hospital, visando reduzir o crescimento de microrganismos patogênicos presentes na cavidade bucal que podem causar infecções e doenças sistêmicas. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão da literatura quanto à importância da integração do cirurgião-dentista ao ambiente hospitalar e como se encontra a situação a respeito atualmente. Desta forma, faz-se necessário a inserção deste profissional na equipe multidisciplinar no sentido de realizar um trabalho em parceria a fim de que o paciente tenha um tratamento efetivo e integral, possibilitando melhoria na saúde dos enfermos

Abstract: The presence of the dental surgeon in the nosocomial environment to monitor the oral health of patients is essential, as his performance aims to reduce the growth of pathogenic microorganisms present in the oral cavity that can cause infections and systemic diseases. Thus, it is necessary to include this professional in the multidisciplinary team in order to carry out work in partnership so that the patient has an effective and comprehensive treatment, enabling improvement in the health of the sick. The participation of the dental surgeon on an outpatient or hospital level aims to collaborate, offer and add more strength to what characterizes the new identity of the hospital. The objective of this work was to carry out a literature review regarding the importance of integrating the dentist to the hospital environment and how the situation is today
