O poeta no fluxo do Dharma : pontos de contato entre a poesia de Alberto Caeiro e o Budismo Theravada

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho apresenta um estudo comparado entre os poemas de O Guardador de Rebanhos, de Alberto Caeiro, e trechos selecionados do Cânone Pali, o corpo de textos sagrados do Budismo Theravada. O objetivo geral foi o de identificar os pontos de contato entre a filosofia de vida do eu-lírico e o modo de vida do budismo tradicional, de modo a propor uma hipótese de leitura a partir do diálogo entre os dois objetos. O referencial teórico do trabalho se filia ao campo da Literatura Comparada (NITRINI, 2015), sobretudo no que tange aos conceitos de intertextualidade e paralelismos de pensamento. No que se refere à análise, foram desenvolvidas três categorias analíticas na tentativa de estabelecer relações temáticas entre as filosofias dos dois objetos: 1) pensamentos elaborados, pautada na relação entre os objetos no que se refere ao ato de pensar; 2) a tradição da floresta, focada no apreço que os objetos compartilham pelo espaço natural; 3) a passagem, categoria que interpreta os poemas finais de O Guardador de Rebanhos, bem como um possível caráter de legado, do ponto de vista da tradição budista. Os resultados da pesquisa apontam para correspondências ideológicas entre os objetos de estudo. O trabalho justifica-se pela possibilidade de evidenciar a qualidade plural e complexa da religião budista e de trazer novos ares ao universo de Alberto Caeiro através de uma nova hipótese de leitura.

Abstract: The present work presents a comparative study between the poems of Alberto Caeiro's O Guardador de Rebanhos, and selected excerpts from the Pali Canon, the collection of sacred texts from Theravada Buddhism. The general objective was to identify points of contact between the poetic persona's philosophy of life and the way of life of traditional Buddhism, in order to propose a reading hypothesis that connected the two objects. The theoretical framework of the work is affiliated with the Comparative Literature field (NITRINI, 2015), especially regarding the concepts of intertextuality and thought parallelisms. Concerning the analysis itself, three analytical categories were developed in an attempt to establish thematic relationships between the objects philosophies: 1) elaborated thoughts, based on the relationship between how the objects perceive the act of thinking; 2) the tradition of the forest, focused on the appreciation that both objects share for natural spaces; 3) the passing, a category that interprets the final poems of O Guardador de Rebanhos, as well as a possible discussion of legacy, from the point of view of the Buddhist tradition. The research results point to ideological correspondences between the objects studied. The work is justified by the possibility of showing the plural and complex quality of the Buddhist religion and by bringing a new breath to Alberto Caeiro's universe through a new reading hypothesis.
