Uma proposta metodológica de interpretação em libras de textos religiosos

Abstract

Resumo: A interpretação/tradução entre as duas modalidades de língua, a Língua Portuguesa, oral auditiva, e a Libras, em sinais, trazem à tona grandes dificuldades, dado que as referências acadêmicas são escassas quanto a procedimentos e técnicas para lidar com gêneros textuais ou discursivos na modalidade sinalizada, especialmente de textos religiosos. Neste trabalho, discutem-se questões metodológicas sobre procedimentos de interpretação/tradução da Língua Portuguesa para a Libras, de textos considerados religiosos, tendo como foco as características e peculiaridades desse processo, que envolve tanto a natureza do texto quanto o papel do intérprete. Assim sendo, o objetivo deste trabalho é propor um método didático de tradução da Língua Portuguesa para a Libras, levando em conta características capazes de facilitar ou dificultar esse processo quando se trata das figuras de linguagem, especialmente a metáfora. Para isso, inicialmente são esclarecidas as possibilidades tradutórias atualmente aceitas pela comunidade de surdos e intérpretes, bem como são analisados os possíveis resultados de compreensão ou assimilação pelos participantes da interação quando o texto envolve tal figura de linguagem. São também consideradas as experiências e resultados práticos cotidianos adquiridos na atuação como tradutor e docente em Libras, e algumas técnicas que ensejaram a criação de uma ferramenta facilitadora das ações tradutórias. Como base teórica, estão as contribuições de autores como Quadros (1997); Ferreira (2010); Capovilla, Raphael e Maurício (2013), entre outros. Este estudo privilegia uma abordagem interpretativa com base na distinção entre a teoria da tradução literal e a da tradução livre. Tal método didático poderá contribuir para o trabalho do profissional intérprete, promovendo um maior respeito à língua dos surdos e às suas características linguísticas.

Abstract: The interpretation / translation between the two modalities of language, the Portuguese language, auditory-oral and Libras, by signs, bring to the fore great difficulties, since the academic references are scarce as to procedures and techniques to deal with textual or discursive genres by sign modality, especially of religious texts. In this work, methodological questions about procedures of interpretation / translation between the Portuguese language and Brazilian sign language, of texts considered religious, are discussed, focusing on the characteristics and peculiarities of this process, which involves both the nature of the text and the role of the interpreter. Therefore, the objective of this work is to propose a didactic method of translation of the Portuguese language into Libras, taking into consideration characteristics capable of facilitating or hindering this process when dealing with language figures, especially metaphor. Therefore, the translation possibilities currently accepted by the deaf and interpreting community are clarified, as well as the possible results of understanding or assimilation by the participants of the interaction when the text involves such figures of language are analyzed. The daily experiences and practical results acquired in the work as translator and teacher in Libras are considered, and some techniques that have led to the creation of a tool that facilitates the translation actions. As a theoretical basis, the contributions of authors such as Ferreira (2010); Quadros (1997); Capovilla, Raphael, Mauricio (2013), among others. This study favors an interpretive approach based on the distinction between the theory of literal translation and that of free translation. It was possible to verify that, as far as the result of the translation is concerned, both non-deaf Libras or deaf learners were very receptive to approaches that involved aspects of language figures. Therefore, such didactic method can contribute to the work of the professional interpreter, promoting a greater respect to the language of the deaf and its linguistic characteristics.
