Interculturalidade e família: os desafios enfrentados por famílias nordestinas que migram para o Vale do Paraíba – SP

Abstract

A migração faz parte da história da humanidade trazendo muitos desafios para os imigrantes, uma vez que famílias chegam a um local onde não possuem redes sociais para dar certo suporte ou podem se deparar também com diferenças culturais importantes. Esses desafios podem influenciar na qualidade de vida dessas famílias imigrantes em seu novo local de morada, tanto nas relações interculturais quanto nas redes sociais. O objetivo geral da presente pesquisa é compreender e analisar os principais desafios encontrados por famílias nordestinas imigrantes no Vale do Paraíba - SP. Especificamente, busca-se compreender e analisar as motivações para o processo de migração, os principais desafios enfrentados por famílias nordestinas, diferenças culturais marcantes existentes e o processo de adaptação, as expectativas de futuro, numa interface entre o local de origem e o atual e, por fim, analisar a representação simbólica desse processo de migração. Foi realizada uma pesquisa exploratória, de campo, com abordagem qualitativa com uma amostragem de 6 famílias. Foram utilizados dois instrumentos para coleta de dados: o Procedimento de Desenho-Estória com Tema (D-E/T) a partir da perspectiva sistêmica e Entrevista Semiestruturada. Pode-se constatar que muitas famílias nordestinas migraram para o Vale do Paraíba - SP em busca de novas oportunidades de trabalho e melhores condições de vida. Trata-se de um processo que traz grandes desafios às famílias, como a distância da família de origem, as incertezas da mudança e a solidão. Mesmo diante de incertezas, saudade da sua terra e dos familiares, a diferença cultural existente não os impediu de tentar a vida no Vale do Paraíba, a vontade de ajudar a família que ainda estava no Nordeste, fez com que continuassem a buscar novas oportunidades de conquistar uma vida financeira melhor. Com isso, observamos que algumas famílias tiverem muitas preocupações e incertezas no processo de migração, Dessa maneira o campo se abre para a possibilidade de atuação do psicólogo, podendo contribuir para construção de um processo de migração que vise à atenção integral à saúde das famílias e para a manutenção de sua qualidade de vida em uma outra região.

Abstract: Migration is part of the history of mankind, bringing many challenges for immigrants, since families arrive in a place where they do not have social networks to provide some support or may also face important cultural differences. These challenges can influence the quality of life of these immigrant families in their new place of residence, both in intercultural relations and in social networks. The general objective of this research is to understand and analyze the main challenges faced by northeastern immigrant families in Vale do Paraíba - SP. Specifically, it seeks to understand and analyze the motivations for the migration process, the main challenges faced by northeastern families, outstanding cultural differences and the adaptation process, expectations for the future, in an interface between the place of origin and the current and , finally, to analyze the symbolic representation of this migration process. An exploratory, field research was carried out, with a qualitative approach with a sample of 6 families. Two instruments were used for data collection: the Drawing-Story Procedure with Theme (D-E / T) from the systemic perspective and Semi-structured Interview. It can be seen that many northeastern families migrated to Vale do Paraíba - SP in search of new job opportunities and better living conditions. It is a process that brings great challenges to families, such as the distance from the family of origin, the uncertainties of change and loneliness. Even in the face of uncertainty, homesickness for their land and their families, the existing cultural difference did not prevent them from trying life in the Paraíba Valley, the desire to help the family that was still in the Northeast, made them continue to seek new opportunities for achieve a better financial life. With that, we observed that some families have many concerns and uncertainties in the migration process. In this way, the field opens up to the possibility of the psychologist acting, and can contribute to the construction of a migration process aimed at comprehensive health care for families and to maintain their quality of life in another region.
