Mediação e EaD : um estudo sobre as representações dos atores da educação presencial e a distância

Abstract

Resumo: A Educação a Distância está em crescimento no Brasil e é parte relevante na área da formação de professores. Neste contexto, a análise de questões relativas ao processo de ensino e aprendizagem na Educação a Distância (EaD) é importante. Este trabalho tem como objetivo identificar e compreender as representações sociais dos docentes e discentes do curso de Pedagogia, sobre mediação pedagógica na Educação a Distância e na educação presencial. Para isso, utiliza-se uma bibliografia sobre educação, mediação e representações sociais. A pesquisa foi desenvolvida em uma universidade do Vale do Paraíba paulista que oferece o curso de Pedagogia nas modalidades a distância e presencial. A amostra foi de 12 docentes, 6 da modalidade presencial e 6 da modalidade a distância, e 40 discentes em fase de conclusão de curso, 20 da modalidade presencial e 20 da modalidade a distância. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa. Para a coleta de dados, foram utilizados como instrumentos a entrevista semiestruturada com perguntas abertas para os docentes e questionários com perguntas abertas e fechadas para os discentes. Os dados coletados com os docentes foram categorizadas pelo software Iramuteq que organizou os dados para análise posterior. Os questionários dos discentes foram tabulados para preparação da análise. Os dados foram analisados à luz da teoria de Representações Sociais. Os resultados sociodemográficos demonstram que o público discente das duas modalidades é diferente na universidade pesquisada. As representações sociais sobre mediação dos professores é de que ela faz parte da relação entre professor e aluno. Parte significativa dos discentes não conhece o conceito de mediação, mas representa que o aprendizado é mais eficiente com a presença física do professor. O resultado contribui para a reflexão e conhecimento na área pedagógica da Educação a Distância a partir das representações sobre a mediação na formação de professores.

Abstract: Distance Education is growing in Brazil and is an important part in the area of teacher education. In this context, the analysis of issues related to the teaching and learning process in Distance Education is important. This work aims to identify and understand the social representations of the teachers and students on Pedagogy course, about pedagogical mediation in Distance Education and in face to face education. For this, a bibliography on education, mediation and social representations is used. The research was developed at a university in the Vale do Paraíba of São Paulo that offers Pedagogy in distance and face-to-face modalities. The sample consisted of 12 teachers, 6 in the face-to-face mode and 6 in the distance modality, and 40 students in the final phase of the course, 20 in the face to face mode and 20 in the distance mode. This is a qualitative research. For the collection of data, the semi structured interview with open questions for teachers and questionnaires with open and closed questions for the students were used as instruments. The data collected with the teachers were categorized by the Iramuteq software that organized the data for later analysis. The students' questionnaires were tabulated for the preparation of the analysis. The data were analyzed in light of the Social Representations theory. The sociodemographic results demonstrate that the student population of the two modalities is different in the university researched. The social representations about teacher mediation is that it is part of the teacher-student relationship. A significant number of students do not know the concept of mediation but it represents that learning is more efficient with the physical presence of the teacher. The result contributes to the reflection and knowledge in the pedagogical area in Distance Education from the representations about mediation in teacher education.
