O exercício profissional do assistente social na área socioambiental : desafios, limites e possibilidades

Abstract

Resumo: Nas últimas décadas, as crises sociais e ambientais produzidas pelo modelo de produção capitalista constituíram-se como um grande desafio para a sociedade em geral, sendo pauta de debates e de lutas de diversos movimentos sociais que se ocuparam da questão social e ambiental. Compreendendo a importância do Serviço Social, que trabalha com as mais diversas expressões da questão social, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo geral analisar as dificuldades enfrentadas pelo assistente social na intervenção profissional na área socioambiental. Esse é um campo recente e ainda pouco explorado pela profissão, tanto no campo teórico, onde existem grandes lacunas de produção acadêmica, quanto no interventivo, pois os vínculos empregatícios nessa área se dão majoritariamente nas instituições privadas, afetando as condições de trabalho do assistente social que se depara com um alargamento dos limites do exercício de sua profissão. Esta pesquisa justifica-se pela necessidade de elucidar as relevantes contribuições que o assistente social pode ofertar neste espaço ocupacional e com isso evidenciar a importância de termos este profissional atuando na área. Realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental e como resultado, constatamos que a crise ambiental tem impactos relevantes na prática do Serviço Social, sendo um espaço propício à sua intervenção. Conclui-se que os maiores desafios à prática profissional do assistente social no campo socioambiental são advindos do sistema capitalista, que por sua hegemonia nos mais diversos aspectos como o social, cultural e econômico, incita um consumo desenfreado e contribui para o aumento das desigualdades sociais.

Abstract: In recent decades, the social and environmental crises produced by the capitalist production model have constituted a great challenge for society in general, being the subject of debates and struggles by various social movements that deal with social and environmental issues. Understanding the importance of Social Work, which works with the most diverse expressions of the social issue, the present work had as general objective to analyze the difficulties faced by the social worker in the professional intervention in the socio-environmental area. This is a recent field and still little explored by the profession, both in the theoretical field, where there are large gaps in academic production, and in intervention, as employment relationships in this area occur mostly in private institutions, affecting the working conditions of social workers who is faced with an extension of the limits of the exercise of his profession. This research is justified by the need to elucidate the relevant contributions that the social worker can offer in this occupational space and thereby highlight the importance of having this professional working in the area. A bibliographical and documental research was carried out and as a result, we found that the environmental crisis has relevant impacts on the practice of Social Work, being a favorable space for its intervention. It is concluded that the biggest challenges to the professional practice of the social worker in the socio-environmental field come from the capitalist system, which, due to its hegemony in the most diverse aspects, such as the social, cultural and economic, incites an unrestrained consumption and contributes to the increase of social inequalities.
