"Primeiras Trovas Burlescas" de Luiz Gama : a construção de uma identidade coletiva

Abstract

Resumo: O tema da presente monografia repousa sobre a análise da obra Primeiras Trovas Burlescas de Luiz Gama, analisando de que forma o autor representa, em sua lírica, elementos constitutivos do que aqui chamamos de identidade negra. Tomamos como objeto de análise os poemas nos quais identificamos uma "temática negra", buscando, na análise desses poemas, responder a seguinte questão: quais são os elementos, e de que forma se apresentam, que permitem evidenciar o estabelecimento de uma identidade negra coletiva na presente obra? Os objetivos desta pesquisa são: 1) investigar indícios de uma relação dialógica entre a obra e culturas pretas; 2) descrever tais indícios pela análise dos poemas; 3) demonstrar de qual forma é representada a identidade negra na obra. Esta pesquisa se justifica por ser ainda pouco estudada a construção da perspectiva literária negra na literatura brasileira, e também pela escassez de pesquisas sobre a obra Primeiras Trovas Burlescas. Soma-se a isso o crescente interesse acadêmico pela figura de Luiz Gama. Enquanto à metodologia de coleta de dados empregada, os poemas escolhidos foram coletados da obra original, partindo da relevância das suas matérias para o debate proposto pelo trabalho. A interpretação dos poemas foi feita pelo método da leitura cerrada e interpretação qualitativa.. A fundamentação teórica se ancora em autores como Antonio Cândido (1970); Teresa L. F. Ferreira (2019, 2008); Eduardo de Assis Duarte (2015, 2008); Proença Filho (2004); Edimilson de Almeida Pereira (1995); Kabengele Munanga (2015). A análise demonstrou que, de fato, ocorre uma representação de identidade negra por meio do léxico, de referenciais étnicos e de representações das vivências coletivas concernentes aos indivíduos negros.

Abstract: The theme of this monograph rests on Luiz Gama's work "Primeiras Trovas Burlescas de Getulino", analyzing in what way the author uses the lyric to build a representation of Black identity. We take as object for analysis poems with Black themes in order to answer the following question: which are the elements, and in which way they present themselves, that allow us to highlight the establishment of a representation of collective identity in the present work? The objectives of this research are: 1) to investigate evidence that allow us to understand a dialogical relation with Black cultures; 2) to demonstrate such evidence through the analysis of the poems; 3) to demonstrate the way in which Black identity is represented in the work. This research is justified by the as of yet little study on the Black literary perspective's construction in Brazilian literature, and also by the scarcity of research about the work "Primeiras Trovas Burlescas". Adds to this the growing academic interest in the figure of Luiz Gama. Regarding the data collection methodology used, the chosen poems were collected from the original work, based on the relevance of their materials for the debate proposed by the study. The interpretation of the poems was made using the close reading method and qualitative interpretation. The theoretical foundation is anchored in authors such as Antonio Cândido (1970); Teresa L.F. Ferreira (2012, 2008); Eduardo de Assis Duarte (2015); Proença Filho (2004); Edimilson de Almeida Pereira (1995); Kabengele Munanga (2015). The analysis demonstrated that in fact a representation of Black identity occurs through the lexic, the ethnic referentials and the representations of collective life experiences concerning Black individuals.
