Manifestações bucais da leucemia : revisão de literatura

Abstract

Resumo: As neoplasias são um assunto de grande interesse por parte da saúde pública, dada a sua incidência, mortalidade e complexidades no desenvolvimento da doença. Especificando em detrimento da obra atual, entende-se que a leucemia é uma patologia heterogênea que é definida por anormalidades citogenéticas e genéticas distintas. No Brasil, segundo o Instituto Nacional do Câncer (INCA), foram estimados para o triênio 2020-2022 cerca de 5.920 casos novos de leucemias em homens e 4.890 em mulheres, representando uma taxa bruta de 5,67 e 4,56 para cada 100 mil homens e mulheres, respectivamente. A participação do cirurgião-dentista na equipe multidisciplinar de cuidados ao paciente com câncer se faz necessária, pois a cavidade bucal pode ser afetada direta ou indiretamente por diferentes doenças e seus tratamentos, para que assim, seja possível proporcionar ao paciente uma melhora da qualidade de vida. O objetivo deste trabalho foi realizar uma revisão sobre as manifestações bucais da leucemia e seus aspectos mais relevantes para a clínica odontológica. Como procedimentos metodológicos, o presente estudo teve como intuito realizar uma revisão de literatura, de caráter descritivo, do tipo retrospectiva, do período de 2008 a 2022, no qual foi utilizado como base, o levantamento bibliográfico nas bases eletrônicas de Dados (Google Acadêmico, PubMed e SciELO) e em livros relacionados a área. Como critérios de inclusão, a pesquisa foi realizada na língua inglesa e na língua portuguesa. E como critérios de exclusão: não foram aceitas obras que se apresentam em outro idioma. Com base no que foi revisado, conclui-se que as principais manifestações orais da Leucemia são: cárie, sangramento e hiperplasia gengival, xerostomia, mucosite, afta, candidíase e ulcerações na mucosa

Abstract: Neoplasms are a subject of great interest on the part of public health, given their incidence, mortality and complexities in the development of the disease. Specifying to the detriment of the current work, it is understood that leukemia is a heterogeneous pathology that is defined by distinct cytogenetic and genetic abnormalities. In Brazil, according to the National Cancer Institute (INCA), approximately 5,920 new cases of leukemia in men and 4,890 in women were estimated for the triennium 2020-2022, representing a crude rate of 5.67 and 4.56 per 100. thousand men and women, respectively. The participation of the dental surgeon in the multidisciplinary team of care for the patient with cancer is necessary, since the oral cavity can be affected directly or indirectly by different diseases and their treatments, so that it is possible to provide the patient with an improvement in the quality of life. The objective of this work was to carry out a literature review on the oral manifestations of leukemia and its most relevant aspects for the dental clinic. As methodological procedures, the present study aimed to carry out a literature review, of a descriptive nature, of the retrospective type, from 2008 to 2022, in which the bibliographic survey in the electronic databases (Google Academic, PubMed and SciELO) and in books related to the area. As inclusion criteria, the research was carried out in English and Portuguese. And as exclusion criteria: works that are presented in another language were not accepted. Based on what was reviewed, it is concluded that the main oral manifestations of Leukemia are: caries, bleeding and gingival hyperplasia, erostomia, mucositis, canker sore, candidiasis and mucosal ulcerations
