Prevenção de doenças da cavidade oral no ambiente da UTI

Abstract

Resumo: Este trabalho trata da prevenção de doenças da cavidade oral em pacientes internados no ambiente da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (UTI), no qual depende de profissionais para a realização de higienização oral diariamente. O objetivo geral deste trabalho foi abordar sobre a prevenção de doenças da cavidade oral no ambiente da UTI. A metodologia utilizada para a realização deste trabalho foi a Revisão Bibliográfica, com pesquisa descritiva e informativa relacionada ao tema. O resultado encontrado nas pesquisas realizadas foi que a pouca capacidade de higienização compromete os pacientes em estado grave na UTI, com resposta imune debilitada, podendo ser encontrada na microbiota da orofaringe, incluindo patógenos oportunistas que complicam o quadro sistêmico do paciente, podendo levar a óbito. Desta forma, pode-se concluir que é de suma importância a realização de intervenções quanto a higienização oral correta e procedimentos para a constatação precoce e controle de alterações orais, por meio de avaliação clínica da cavidade oral, com finalidade de evitar complicações locais e sistêmicas do paciente em UTI

Abstract: This work deals with the prevention of diseases of the oral cavity in patients hospitalized in the environment of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), in which it depends on professionals to perform oral hygiene daily. The general objective of this work was to address the prevention of diseases of the oral cavity in the ICU environment. The methodology used to carry out this work was the Bibliographic Review, with descriptive and informative research related to the theme. The result found in the research carried out was that the poor hygiene capacity compromises patients in a serious condition in the ICU, with a weakened immune response, and can be found in the oropharynx microbiota, including opportunistic pathogens that complicate the patient's systemic condition, and can lead to death. Thus, it can be concluded that it is extremely important to carry out interventions regarding correct oral hygiene and procedures for the early detection and control of oral alterations, through clinical evaluation of the oral cavity, in order to avoid local and systemic complications. of the patient in the ICU
