Gênero invisível : envelhecimento e feminismo

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho faz uma abordagem sobre o envelhecimento feminino, considerando as análises feministas para a compreensão desse fenômeno. As pessoas têm apresentado uma expectativa de vida cada vez maior e as mulheres mais ainda. Nesse sentido, se faz relevante compreender como ocorre nas mulheres essa fase de envelhecimento. Assim, o presente trabalho teve como objetivo geral analisar o envelhecimento feminino a partir das questões sociais com base nas contribuições do feminismo e como objetivos específicos discorrer sobre o processo do envelhecimento, abordar sobre os aspectos históricos da mulher e do seu envelhecimento e discutir sobre as representações do envelhecimento da mulher. Para responder aos objetivos da pesquisa foi empregada uma pesquisa bibliográfica, sendo selecionados livros e artigos sobre o tema. No caso dos artigos, foram utilizados os bancos da Google Academic, Scielo e Biblioteca Digital Brasileira de Teses e Dissertações - BDTD, utilizando-se os critérios de inclusão o material em português, empregando os seguintes descritores: envelhecimento, feminino, velhice e feminismo Os resultados apontaram que, em virtude de uma sociedade patriarcal e machista, a mulher tem sofrido impacto na velhice, além da demanda pelo culto da beleza. Conclui-se que a representação sobre o envelhecimento feminino é carregada de estigmas e o tema precisa de mais estudos e pesquisas para ampliar essa discussão.

Abstract: The present work approaches female aging, considering feminist analyzes to understand this phenomenon. People have an increasing life expectancy and women even more. In this sense, it is relevant to understand how this aging phase occurs in women. Thus, the present work had as general objective to analyze female aging from social issues based on the contribuitions of feminism and as specific objectives to discuss the aging process, address the historical aspects of women and their aging and discuss the representations of women's aging. To respond to the research objectives, a bibliographic research was used, and books and articles on the subject were selected. In the case of articles, the databases of Google Academic, Scielo and the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations - BDTD were used, using the inclusion criteria for the material in Portuguese, using the following descriptors: aging, female, old age and feminism. The results showed that, due to a patriarchal and sexist society, women have suffered an impact in old age, in addition to the demand for the cult of beauty. It is concluded that the representation o female aging is loaded with stigmas and the topic needs more studies and research to expand this discussion.
