A luta por moradia e as relações com a religiosidade : ações sociais e políticas de católicos em um movimento por moradia na região do Vale do Paraíba

Abstract

Resumo: Os ensinamentos religiosos exercem grande influência nas relações sociais e políticas que acompanham a formação da sociedade capitalista de produção e podem favorecer tanto a sua manutenção quanto as mudanças na história. Nesses termos é que esta pesquisa tem por objetivo analisar a influência da religiosidade nas ações sociais e políticas de católicos que atuam em um movimento social por moradia na região do Vale do Paraíba Paulista. Do ponto de vista metodológico, utilizou-se da abordagem qualitativa com o uso dos seguintes instrumentos: observação participante e entrevista semiestruturada com 6 participantes católicos da ocupação. Para a combinação e cruzamento do material bibliográfico com o coletado em campo foi usada a técnica da triangulação de dados. Como resultado foi possível observar que a pandemia agravou a situação social dos ocupantes, com destaque para a situação de desemprego, de morte de pessoas queridas, crianças que não tiveram aula e ficaram sem o acesso à merenda escolar, dentre outros. No aspecto da relação da religião nas ações sociais e políticas do movimento, observa-se que a igreja católica apresentou pouco ou nenhum envolvimento até o momento da pesquisa. Analisa-se que somente com a organização política e social é possível buscar uma alternativa para a moradia aos ocupantes.

Abstract: The religious teachings exert a large influence over the social and political relations which accompany the development of the capitalist society of production and can favour either its maintenance and the history changes. It is on these terms that this research has as objective analyze religiosity's influence over the social and political actions of catholics that act in a social movement for housing in the region of Vale do Paraíba Paulista. From the methodological point of view, the qualitative approach was utilized with the use of the following means: participant observation and semi-structured interview with 6 catholic participants of the occupation. For the interviews' analysis, it was used the data triangulation technique. As results, it was possible to observe that the pandemic has aggravated the occupants' social situation, with an emphasis on the unemployment situation, dear people's deaths, children who didn't have class and were left without access to school meals, among other things. On the aspect of the religion's relation in the movement's social and political actions, it is observed that the catholic church presented little or no engagement up to moment of the research. It is analyzed that only with the political and social organization is possible to seek an alternative for the housing to the occupants.
