O impacto da pandemia na relação entre pais e filhos

Abstract

Resumo: A pandemia da COVID-19 trouxe muitas mudanças e consequências de uma nova realidade nos diferentes âmbitos e contextos da vida do ser humano. O presente estudo teve como objetivo geral compreender os possíveis impactos da pandemia da COVID- 19 no relacionamento entre pais e filhos. Foi realizada uma pesquisa qualitativa, exploratória, por meio do delineamento de estudo de caso. Foram estudadas seis famílias, cujos pais são casados legalmente ou não, coabitam e que tenham pelo menos um filho na faixa etária entre 7 a 9 anos de idade, residentes na cidade de Taubaté. Foi formado um grupo amostral por conveniência com 6 mães e 6 crianças, totalizando 12 participantes. Para coleta de dados junto às mães foi utilizada a entrevista semiestruturada e com as crianças foi aplicada a técnica do desenho-estória com tema (D-E/T), ambos os instrumentos foram aplicados de forma presencial. Os dados obtidos nas entrevistas foram analisados por meio de técnicas qualitativas de análise de conteúdo. Os dados obtidos por meio do D-E/T foram analisados a partir de um roteiro com base na abordagem sistêmica. Os resultados revelam que os impactos causados pela pandemia da COVID-19 no relacionamento entre pais e filhos dentro do período de isolamento social foram positivos no que diz respeito ao aumento de proximidade e de trocas afetivas entre os membros do sistema familiar. No que diz respeito ao convívio social fora do contexto familiar, ocorreram dificuldades devido à ausência do convívio escolar. Quanto às expectativas familiares, foi possível observar que as crianças acreditam em um futuro positivo pós pandemia da COVID-19. Pode-se concluir que, a pandemia da COVID-19 impactou o relacionamento entre pais e filhos, e dentre os participantes do presente trabalho, o impacto foi considerado benéfico com relação aos vínculos entre os membros do sistema familiar. Entretanto, nota-se que a medida de segurança adotada, o isolamento social, foi um grande desafio às famílias, pois envolveu novos modelos de interação e comunicação na família. Para os pais, a ausência das aulas presenciais e a falta de convívio na comunidade escolar exigiram ainda mais das crianças, demandando dos paisrespeito ao cuidado e atenção com seus filhos.

Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic brought many changes and consequences of a new reality in different areas and contexts of human life. The present study aimed to understand the possible impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the relationship between parents and children. A qualitative, exploratory research was carried out through the case study design. Six families were studied, whose parents are legally married or not, cohabit and have at least one child aged between 7 and 9 years old, residing in the city of Taubaté. A convenience sample group was formed with 6 mothers and 6 children, totaling 12 participants. For data collection with the mothers, a semi-structured interview was used, and with the children the technique of drawing-story with a theme (D-E/T) was applied, both instruments were applied in person. The data obtained in the interviews were analyzed using qualitative content analysis techniques. The data obtained through the D-E/T were analyzed from a script based on the systemic approach. The results reveal that the impacts caused by the COVID-19 pandemic on the relationship between parents and children during the period of social isolation were positive with regard to the increase in proximity and affective exchanges between members of the family system. With regard to social life outside the family context, there were difficulties due to the absence of school life. As for family expectations, it was possible to observe that children believe in a positive future after the COVID-19 pandemic. It can be concluded that the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the relationship between parents and children, and among the participants in this study, the impact was considered beneficial in relation to the bonds between members of the family system. However, it is noted that the adopted security measure, social isolation, was a great challenge to families, as it involved new models of interaction and communication in the family. For the parents, the absence of in-person classes and the lack of interaction in the school community demanded even more from the children, demanding from the parents respect for the care and attention to their children.
