O Movimento de Estudantes na Universidade de Taubaté : sujeitos, experiências, contexto (1979-1988)

Abstract

Resumo: O movimento estudantil no Brasil, possui uma longa história na sociedade brasileira. Com momentos de ímpeto e momentos menos incisivos. No final da década de 1970 e início dos anos de 1980, com a Ditadura Civil-Militar ainda em curso, os estudantes retornam aos holofotes com manifestações contra o regime, principalmente em relação à Anistia e às Diretas Já. Esta conjuntura ecoava não só nas grandes cidades, como foi o caso da cidade de Taubaté, na década de 1980. O presente trabalho tem como objetivo analisar o sujeito universitário da Universidade de Taubaté dentro deste contexto, analisando como se deu a organização dos movimentos, os motivos para as ações tomadas e as respostas da Universidade de Taubaté. A pesquisa se pautou teoricamente nas contribuições do historiador inglês E. P. Thompson, particularmente na obra A Miséria da Teoria - Ou Um Planetário de Erros. E a metodologia utilizada foi análise do fundo documental doado por alguns estudantes que participaram do movimento ao Centro de Documentação e Pesquisa Histórica (CDPH/UNITAU) Urbano Reis Patto Filho, Marcelo Fuad Khuryeh e Boris Alexandre César dentro da série Movimento Estudantil, além da análise da imprensa periódica local. Sob essa ótica o trabalho busca tentar compreender como se dava a relação entre experiência e sujeito histórico. O resultado desta pesquisa aponta para uma não solução do problema, somente houveram algumas mudanças para apaziguar o movimento.

Abstract: The student movement in Brazil has a long history in Brazilian society. With moments of momentum and less incisive moments. At the end of the 1970s and beginning of the 1980s, with the Civil-Military Dictatorship still ongoing, students returned to the spotlight with demonstrations against the regime, mainly in relation to Amnesty and Diretas Já. This situation was echoed not only in large cities, as was the case of the city of Taubaté, in the 1980s. The present work aims to analyze the university subject at the University of Taubaté within this context, analyzing how the movements were organized, the reasons for the actions taken and the responses from the University of Taubaté. The research was theoretically based on the contributions of the english historian E. P. Thompson, particularly in the work The Poverty of Theory & Other Essays . And the methodology used was analysis of the documentary fund donated by some students who participated in the movement to the Centro de Documentação e Pesquisa Histórica (CDPH/UNITAU) Urbano Reis Patto Filho, Marcelo Fuad Khuryeh and Boris Alexandre César within the Student Movement series, in addition to the analysis of the local periodical press. From this perspective, the work seeks to understand how the relationship between experience and historical subject occurred. The result of this research points to no solution to the problem, there were only some changes to appease the movement.
