Aspectos produtivos do cultivo da tangerina ponkan (citrus reticulata) em Taubaté-SP

Abstract

Resumo: As tangerinas são frutas de grande importância econômica e constituem o segundo maior grupo de frutos cítricos em 2019. Entre as tangerinas mais cultivadas no mundo e com grande aceitação no mercado de frutas frescas, se destacam as <Ponkans=, sendo preferência para os consumidores brasileiros devido aos seus frutos grandes, fáceis de descascar, com sabor agradável, baixa acidez e alto teor de açúcar. Considerando a importância econômica da tangerina ponkan se justifica avaliar a sua produção em locais específicos como no município de Taubaté. O trabalho foi realizado no ano de 2022, durante os meses de maio e junho, em um pomar comercial, sem irrigação, de tangerina ponkan, com aproximadamente 4.000 plantas, em uma propriedade localizada no bairro Ribeirão das almas em Taubaté -SP. O pomar tem plantas com idade de dois a 10 anos de idade e o espaçamento de plantio adotado foi de 4 metros entrelinhas e 4 metros entre plantas. Foram analisados os parâmetros físicos, como peso, diâmetro longitudinal e transversal, e os parâmetros químicos, como pH, teor de Sólidos solúveis, Acidez titulável e ratio. Além disso, analisou a incidência de moscas-das-frutas e das doenças Alternaria alternata e Penicillium digitatum. Os frutos de tangerina ponkan apresentaram um tamanho bom, bom calibre, produtividade excelente, sólidos solúveis e Acidez titulável um pouco abaixo da média. Em relação a pragas e doenças, a incidência de moscas-das-frutas foi de 24%, A. alternata de 40% e P. digitatum de 6%. O pomar em questão, embora tenha apresentado uma excelente produtividade e produzido frutos de bom calibre, necessita adotar um controle para moscas-das-frutas e melhorar o controle da Mancha-marrom (A. alternata).

Abstract: Tangerines are fruits of great economic importance and constituted the second largest group of citrus fruits in 2019 (DIAS et al., 2022). Among the most cultivated tangerines in the world and with great acceptance in the fresh fruit market, the "Ponkans" stand out, being preferred by Brazilian consumers due to their large fruits, easy to peel, with a pleasant flavor, low acidity and high content of sugar (SILVA et al. 2018). According to Andrade (2021), Brazil ranks seventh among the largest producers of tangerines, with a production of approximately 984.9 thousand tons and an area cultivated with these citrus trees in 52.8 ha. According to data from the IBGE (2020), the production of tangerines is concentrated in the Southeast and South regions of the country, with the states of São Paulo, Minas Gerais, Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul, in this sequence, being the largest producers of the fruit.The group of sweet oranges, according to Bastos et al. (2014), it is the most expressive in the orchards of citrus growing countries, with approximately two thirds of the plantations. Also according to the authors, tangerines are the second most produced group of citrus fruits in Brazil, with the 'Ponkan' variety representing about 60% of the plantations in Brazilian orchards of this group. Bastianel et al. (2014) mention that of the varieties found in Brazilian orchards, Ponkan is the most expressive, being one of the most cultivated varieties in the world. In Brazil, still according to the authors, it is considered the <queen of tangerines= for presenting sweet and large fruits. The Ponkan tangerine is described as producing fruits that are not very succulent, large, globular in shape and moderately flattened, with a medium-thin and low-adherent peel, mild flavor and odor, and orangecolored peel and pulp (MOREIRA et al., 2012). Considering the economic importance of Ponkan tangerine, it is justified to evaluate its production in specific places such as the municipality of Taubaté.
