Title: Prototypes elaboration of a mathematics teaching laboratory

Abstract: This work aims to contextualize mathematics and advance in teaching, with the encouragement of the creation of prototypes of a Mathematics Teaching Laboratory (LEM). It was developed in a class of the 3rd year of High School, of a State School of Guaratingueta/SP using the methodology of Project- Based Learning (ABP). The students organized themselves into seven groups. The development of the prototypes occurred in mathematics classes for eight weeks. The groups chose a leader and a secretary. The leaders and secretaries were changed during the development of the project, according to the rotation suggested by the ABP methodology. Each group created a prototype of the physical space for the (LEM). The groups used software and design applications to construct the prototypes, price the materials for the assembly of the laboratory and set up lectures on the slides for the presentation of the project. The application of the PBL methodology allowed the development of teamwork and the engagement of students in solving the proposed problem.
