Leitura de reportagem : subsídios para atividades no ensino fundamental

Abstract

Resumo: Esta pesquisa aborda a leitura de reportagem como instrumento que contribui para a formação de um leitor de um leitor proficiente. A necessidade de investigar tal assunto surgiu da construção tanto da dificuldade que os alunos demonstram ao realizarem atividades de leitura de textos diversos quanto da carência de material didático que indique procedimentos adequados à realização de tais atividades, de acordo com as atuais concepções de linguagem de ensino adotadas pelos documentos oficiais. Especificamente consideramos as diretrizes dos Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais - PCN - e da Proposta Curricular de Língua Portuguesa do Estado de Minas Gerais - CBC -, que recomendam o trabalho com textos de circulação real, das várias áreas de atuação humana, dentre os quais selecionamos a reportagem. Posto isso, firma-se como objetivo geral desta pesquisa corroborar com estudos da Lingüística Aplicada que visem ao estabelecimento de procedimentos pertinentes à prática de leitura de reportagem em sala de aula, contribuindo, assim, para a proficiência em leitura dos alunos, sendo objetivos específicos deste trabalho: 1) analisar um corpus de cinco reportagens veiculadas em revistas e jornais para identificar os elementos e as informações das reportagens que podem ser exploradas para uma leitura proficiente em salas de aulas do 8° e 9° anos do ensino fundamental; 2) exemplificar a aplicação de procedimentos de leitura do gênero discursivo reportagem, utilizando esse corpus. Os fundamentos teóricos da pesquisa consideram os conceitos bakhtinianos de linguagem e de gênero discursivo, a concepção sociocognitiva (sociointerativa) de leitura, a proposta de ensino a partir de sequências didáticas e informações sobre reportagem advindas de estudos da área de Comunicação Social. Os resultados da pesquisa mostram que a exploração, à luz do referencial teórico supracitado, de aspectos sociocomunicativos e de elementos verbais e não-verbais do gênero discursivo reportagem oferece subsídios a um trabalho em sala de aula que seja baseado em procedimentos de leitura e que vise a formar leitores proficientes.

Abstract: This research deals with news reading as a tool that contributes to the formation of proficient readers. The need to investigate this issue arose from the observation of not only of the difficulties shown by students while performing reading activities involving different types of texts but also of the lack of materials which contain the proper procedures to perform such activities in accordance with the current conceptions of language and teaching adopted by official documents. We specifically considered the instructions on the Parâmetros Curriculares Nacionais - PCN - and Proposta Curricular de Língua Portuguesa do Estado de Minas Gerais - CBC - , both recommending the work with texts in real circulation, from various human action areas, among which we chose working with news. The aim of this research is to contribute to the Applied Linguistics studies aiming at establishing procedures concerning the reading of news in class, leading to students' proficiency in reading. The specific objectives of this work are: 1) to analyze a corpus composed of five pieces of news published in magazines and newspapers to identify their elements and information that can be explored in proficient reading in the 8 th and 9 th grades; 2) to exemplify the application of the procedures for reading this discursive genre, using the corpus. The theoretical basis for this research are the bakthinian concepts of language and discursive genre, the sociocognitive (sociointeractive) conception of reading, teaching based on didactic sequences and information about news reporting from the Social Communication area. The results show that the exploration, in the light of the theoretical reference above, of sociocommunicative aspects and verbal and non-verbal elements of this discursive genre offer subsidies for classroom work based on reading procedures which aim at fostering proficient readers.
