Impactos ambientais dos assentamentos ribeirinhos : um estudo de manejo sustentável na Ilha do Combu, Belém, Pará

Abstract

Resumo: Este trabalho teve como objetivo central estudar a degradação ambiental socioespacial, tais como processos de desmatamentos, qualidade de vida da comunidade ribeirinha e economia local causados pelos assentamentos ribeirinhos na ilha do Combu no entorno de Belém, Pará. Neste sentido, o processo metodológico para a realização desta pesquisa iniciou com a revisão bibliográfica para um melhor entendimento sobre o local de estudo, sendo utilizado o método dedutivo, considerando a pesquisa bibliográfico-documental. Nesta revisão foram pesquisados além de livros e autores já presentes neste trabalho, dissertações e teses sobre a ilha do Combu. Posteriormente foi contactada a liderança local por meio de visita na ilha do Combu, com o objetivo de verificar as formas de relações com a comunidade. Após o contato com a liderança, foram aplicadas entrevistas semiestruturadas junto aos habitantes da ilha do Combu com a finalidade de identificar a degradação ambiental por meio dos assentamentos ribeirinhos e que fatores devem ser considerados para que ocorra o manejo sustentável desses assentamentos. Em continuidade a esta pesquisa, por meio de visitas técnicas foi feito um levantamento fotográfico. Os principais resultados deste estudo demonstram que atenção especial deve ser dirigida ao acesso de visitantes principalmente aos finais de semana mesmo considerando que a ilha do Combu com grande extensão, poderia ter esse controle em maior intensidade principalmente nas áreas de maior demanda de acessibilidade desta ilha onde aos finais de semana a demanda por visitantes cresce por restaurantes, bares, festas, passeios e trilhas ecológicas reiterando a degradação ambiental relacionada a presença de lanchas, voadeiras, jet skis e barcos que ao passarem com grande velocidade e força nas águas causam danos irreversíveis às encostas que com o desmoronamento progressivo agravado pelas chuvas constantes na região destroem árvores do entorno e assim fazendo com que os moradores impactados também com este processo, recuem para dentro da floresta, reconstruindo suas palafitas.

Abstract: The main objective of this work was to study the socio-spatial environmental degradation, such as deforestation processes, quality of life of the riverside community and local economy caused by the riverside settlements on the island of Combu, near Belém, Pará. The accomplishment of this research began with the bibliographical revision for a better understanding about the place of study, being used the deductive method, considering the bibliographical-documentary research. In this review were searched in addition to books and authors already present in this work, dissertations and theses on the island of Combu. Later the local leadership was contacted through a visit to the island of Combú, in order to verify the forms of relations with the community. After contact with the leadership, semi-structured interviews were applied to the inhabitants of the island of Combu in order to identify the environmental impacts of the riverside settlements and what factors should be considered in order for the sustainable management of these settlements to occur. In continuity to this research, through technical visits a photographic survey was made. The main results of this study demonstrate that special attention should be directed to the access of visitors mainly to weekends even considering that the island of Combu to a great extent could have this control in greater intensity mainly in the areas of greater demand of accessibility of this island where At weekends, visitor demand grows through restaurants, bars, parties, walks and ecological trails reiterating the environmental impacts present with boats, jetskis and boats that when passing with great speed and strength in the waters cause irreversible damages to the slopes that with the progressive collapse aggravated by the constant rains in the region destroys surrounding trees and thus causing the residents impacted also with this process, retreat into the forest, rebuilding their stilts.
