Anfíbios anuros na área de proteção ambiental do banhado de São José dos Campos, SP

Abstract

Resumo: O presente trabalho pretende contribuir para um maior conhecimento dos anfíbios anuros da área de várzea na Área de Proteção Ambiental do Banhado de São José dos Campos, SP, que é um importante ecossistema próximo a um centro urbano. O estudo objetivou caracterizar os habitats, a distribuição espacial e temporal das espécies de anuros registradas, além de fornecer informações para o gerenciamento e sua conservação, podendo futuramente, ser referência para trabalhos similares. As atividades de campo foram realizadas semanalmente, no período noturno, totalizando 45 amostragens, entre agosto de 2007 e maio de 2008. Foram registradas quinze espécies de anuros, distribuídas em cinco famílias: Bufonidae (n = 01); Leiuperidae (n = 01); Hylidae (n = 10); Leptodactylidae (n = 02) e Mycrohylidae (n = 01). Entre as espécies observadas, houve uma preferência por vegetação herbácea, notada principalmente para família Hylidae, que representou cerca de 66% dos anuros. Durante o desenvolvimento da pesquisa, iniciou-se a execução de uma obra viária denominada Via Norte que tem interferido no ecossistema da área. A diminuição da área de reprodução dos anfíbios pode ser notada a partir do mês de janeiro de 2008. Também ocorreu o aterramento de parte da poça permanente utilizada para a realização deste estudo, além do assoreamento de áreas um pouco mais distantes que também serviam como habitat e microhabitats reprodutivos dos anuros. As poças temporárias utilizadas para o desenvolvimento da pesquisa foram aterradas por completo, ocorrendo o soterramento e morte dos girinos desta temporada reprodutiva.

Abstract: The present work intends to contribute for a better knowledge of anurous amphibian from the fertile valley area in the Environmental Protection Area of the Banhado in São José dos Campos, SP, which is an important ecosystem near the urban center. Besides characterizing the habitats and the spatial and temporal distribution of the species, providing information for its management and conservation, it will be, in the future, reference for similar works. It was also performed the research of the environmental impacts in the area, in order to indicate the possible consequences of the humans' actions in relation to the habitats occupied by the amphibians. The regular samples were collected weekly, in the nocturnal period, between august 2007and may 2008. It was registered fifteen species of anurous, distributed in five families: Bufonidae (n = 01); Leiuperidae (n = 01); Hylidae (n = 10); Leptodactylidae (n =02) e Mycrohylidae (n = 01). Among the observed species there was a preference for herbaceous vegetation, noted specially in the family Hylidade, which represent about 66% of the amphibians. During the development of the research a highway construction has started named Via Norte, which is interfering the ecosystem of the area. The decrease of the amphibian's reproduction area may be noticed from January 2008 on. There was also a banking up of the permanent puddle used on this research, and also the sanding of distant areas that were reproductive habitats and microhabitats for the anurous. The temporary puddles used for the development of this research were completely banked up resulting in the death of the tadpoles of that reproductive season.
