Análise de indicadores geoambientais de sustentabilidade para o município de Barcarena no estado do Pará

Abstract

Resumo: A preocupação com o manejo dos bens naturais, assim como com a manutenção do meio ambiente contribuíram para que a determinação e análise de indicadores geoambientais passassem a ser considerados instrumentos de mensuração e intervenção no meio urbano, traduzindo assim, a crescente preocupação de gestores públicos e organismos internacionais em relação ao controle dos meios naturais diante da necessidade da sobrevivência humana. Nesse sentido, explica-se que a presente pesquisa tem como objetivo principal estabelecer uma análise do Município de Barcarena, no Estado do Pará, a partir da utilização de indicadores geoambientais e de sustentabilidade, com a intenção de verificar possíveis mudanças na paisagem local devido o extrativismo vegetal no passado e atual extrativismo mineral. Especificamente, tem-se a intenção de analisar as possíveis alterações sociais e geoambientais provenientes do extrativismo vegetal e mineral no município de Barcarena; compreender como os indicadores geoambientais e de sustentabilidade social podem ser utilizados para monitoração de mudanças locais; avaliar a qualidade de vida no município de Barcarena, a partir da utilização de indicadores físicos e socioambientais; propor um sistema de indicadores capaz de reunir indicadores físicos e socioambientais de sustentabilidade a partir da discussão sobre a qualidade da vida urbana e ambiental constatada na pesquisa. No âmbito metodológico, explica-se que primeiramente foi realizado um levantamento bibliográfico com a intenção de constatar a percepção de autores acerca da temática proposta. As informações obtidas na etapa anterior foram confrontadas com os dados de uma pesquisa de campo por meio da qual procurou-se constatar possíveis impactos ambientais locais. Os dados informações obtidos foram tabulados e confrontados com a intenção de elaborar a parte textual e indicadores ambientais para construção dos mapas comparativos acerca do município de Barcarena, bem como, o confronto dessas informações com dados do Instituto Brasileiro de Geografia e Estatística (IBGE), por meio do censo realizado no ano de 2010, obtidos por meio de internet. Após a adoção desses pesos, efetua-se a soma do peso da variável de cada Distrito, obtendo-se assim uma média correspondente. O valor final indica se a região se encontra de acordo com os parâmetros estabelecidos pelos órgãos de controle socioambientais. Os resultados obtidos descrevem a qualidade das condições físicos e socioambientais, viabilizando a construção de um perfil por meio do qual são descritas as mudanças socioeconômicas e físico-ambientais que afetam as condições locais em Barcarena, tendo em vista que o cenário descrito para o município de Barcarena corresponde ao nível intermediário do barômetro de sustentabilidade.

Abstract: The concern with the management of natural assets, as well as with the maintenance of the environment, contributed to the determination and analysis of geoenvironmental indicators to be considered instruments of measurement and intervention in the urban environment, thus translating the growing concern of public managers and international organizations in relation to the control of natural resources in view of the need for human survival. In this sense, it is explained that the present research has as main objective to establish an analysis of the Municipality of Barcarena, in the State of Pará, from the use of geoenvironmental and sustainability indicators, with the intention of verifying possible changes in the local landscape due to the plant extraction in the past and current mineral extraction. Specifically, the intention is to analyze the possible social and geoenvironmental changes arising from plant and mineral extraction in the municipality of Barcarena; understand how geoenvironmental and social sustainability indicators can be used to monitor local changes; evaluate the quality of life in the municipality of Barcarena, based on the use of physical and socio-environmental indicators; propose a system of indicators capable of gathering physical and socio-environmental sustainability indicators based on the discussion on the quality of urban and environmental life found in the research. In the methodological context, it is explained that a bibliographic survey was first carried out with the intention of verifying the authors' perception about the proposed theme. The information obtained in the previous step was compared with the data from a field survey through which it was sought to verify possible local environmental impacts. The information data obtained were tabulated and compared with the intention of elaborating the textual part and environmental indicators for the construction of comparative maps about the municipality of Barcarena, as well as the comparison of this information with data from the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (IBGE), through the 2010 census, obtained through the internet. After the adoption of these weights, the weight of the variable for each District is added, thus obtaining a corresponding average. The final value indicates whether the region is in accordance with the parameters established by the socio-environmental control bodies. The results obtained describe the quality of the physical and socio-environmental conditions, enabling the construction of a profile through which the socioeconomic and physical-environmental changes that affect the local conditions in Barcarena are described, considering that the scenario described for the municipality of Barcarena corresponds to the intermediate level of the sustainability barometer.
